Planning your divorce in 2012

Planning your divorce in 2012

As the end of 2011 approached, many people took time to reflect and contemplate the past year. The good, the bad and the ugly. And as another dismal economic effort by our government leaves in its wake a mountain of debt, a weak economy and unemployment numbers that boggle the mind, marriages are still taking it on the chin as relenting economic problems weigh heavily on American families just trying to survive. Christmas makes this stark reality even more disconcerting for those not on the right side of this ongoing “Great Depression” So for the most part, the holiday season is typically one where embattled couples put their issues aside for the most part and then after New Years… it’s time to finish once and for all the mess that was started.

Moving forward in 2012 as far as divorce goes, it clearly pays to be prepared, way before you even think about filing for a divorce.

I am regularly amazed at clients in my Divorce Coaching practice who hang on way past the point of no return, emotionally, physically, spiritually and financially as their partner trashes what is left of their relationship – if you could call it that.

So moving forward, with all of life’s potential and a fresh new canvas on which to paint your life for 2012, be decisive and prepared to live with the ramifications of your decisions, but know that it is easier on the mind and the soul if you take advantage of a few moments preparation for your divorce. Planning is essential, and without it your divorce will only be more costly – in every way.

Divorce Planning is critical the the outcome of your divorce, and failure to plan often ends in divorce disaster.
