“…And Justice for All!”
Remember those words? I do.
I was sharing with an old high school friend of mine just the other day about the concept of the American perception of Justice. As children and young adults, for the most part, were are taught to respect authority, believe in the inherent “good” of law enforcement and know that justice will be served in our courts.
For most of us, we had no experience with law enforcement, lawyers or the judicial system until we are getting a divorce. That single great American past time – Divorce, is our right of passage into the Justice System.
I consider this to be the Great Fraud perpetrated on the populous simply by way of a belief in something that is broken and corrupt from within (Sorry folks, but I have proof.) We all have horror stories of our experiences in a court room, with attorney’s and in our divorce and it ancillary “gifts” that keep giving (still plague us) years later. And I will not go into detail on these at this time.
My point is that the only time someone tells the “…truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth, so help you, God” on the witness stand is their first time up. After that, it’s every man for himself. Or woman.
