Stephen Montalvo, located in Redwood City, Ca. Steve is extremely knowledgeable, efficient, aggressive and patient. He is well liked by his peers and judges, which in the hands of the wrong attorney can be a liability, but in Steve’ case this is an asset. Clearly I would not recommend an attorney who milks you for every penny, and Steve is one of only a handful of attorney’s I know who purposely tries not to milk your retainer dry. If you are looking for someone who will call you daily with mindless dribble, update you by email for no good reason, then look elsewhere – Steve’s style is hands off unless he has something to tell you. This does not mean you cannot get through to him… he has great staff with Diana and Marie, and someone is almost always available. Leave a message or email and trust that someone is reading or listening.

New Addition - June, 2011
Recently had a divorce coaching client who needed an attorney, but did not need one for an entire divorce case really, most of his documents were done, he knew what he was doing for the most part in his divorce, and was just looking for someone to help him with court appearances, since his ex had hired an attorney and he did not feel confident in representing himself. Now finding a good attorney who will also do what is referred to as “Limited Scope” representation is tough to find, but I believe that he has succeeded. Eva Martelle in San Jose, Ca seems like she has a handle on my clients case, offers realistic advice and yet does everything in her power to minimize costs for my clients, which is critical to my endorsement.
While this case is pending at this writing, we are pleased moving forward, thus my endorsement and recommendation of Eva.
